Care & Maintenance

It is important to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for Care and Maintenance carefully. Not doing so could negatively affect the warranty. With proper care, your cabinets can last for generations.

Cabinets

Once your cabinets have been installed, they should be wiped down with a damp cloth, followed immediately by a dry, clean cloth. Wooden cabinets must also be cleaned in the direction of the grain. Every one to two weeks, your cabinets should be gently cleaned with a damp, soft cloth. Depending on the amount of activity your cabinets receive, you may need to use a small amount of dish soap mixed with water to wipe the cabinets down. Always use a soft cloth to remove any residual moisture.

Countertops

No countertop should be used as a hot plate or cutting board, as cutting will eventually scratch the tops and hot items will dull the finish. Always use a cutting board and trivet. Spills should not be allowed to sit for long periods of time. Most countertops can be cleaned with soap and water, with the following exceptions.

Granite

There is no simple way to remove stains with Granite tops. Be careful with foods that contain acids and always use coasters, cutting boards, and trivets.

Marble

Do not use anything acidic on Marble tops. This includes certain foods and soaps. Marble tops can be cleaned with water and non-acidic soap and should be buffed dry after cleaning.

Butcher Block

Butcher Block tops finished with oil can be wiped down with mild dish soap and water. Towel dry and excess moisture. It is recommended to re-oil your Butcher Block tops after a vigorous cleaning.
